Maintenance Guide

General Tips for All Essence Glow Wigs:

  • Gentle Handling: Always handle your wig gently. Avoid pulling or tugging on the hair
    fibers or lace.
  • Washing Frequency: Wash your wig every 6-8 wears, or as needed, depending on
product buildup, environmental factors, and how frequently you wear it.
  • Air Drying is Best: Whenever possible, allow your wig to air dry on a wig stand or
mannequin head to maintain its shape, style, and integrity.
  • Proper Storage: Store your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head when not in use to
prevent tangling, frizz, and preserve its original style.
  • Avoid Over-Styling: Excessive heat styling or heavy product use can lead to damage,
dryness, and reduced lifespan of the wig fibers over time.

To refresh the style, mist lightly with water and gently finger style. For synthetic curls,
gently shake and finger fluff once dry.

Straight Human Hair Wig Maintenance
For your Essence Glow straight human hair wigs, maintaining their sleekness, shine, and softness is paramount.
Washing:

Gently detangle the wig before washing using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers, always
working from the ends upwards to the roots.

Wet the hair with lukewarm water, ensuring the water flows in a downward direction.

Apply a small amount of sulfate-free shampoo, distributing it evenly in a downward
motion. Do not scrub vigorously or pile the hair on top of your head, as this can cause
tangling.

Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear and all shampoo is
removed.

Apply a hydrating, sulfate-free conditioner, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Avoid
applying too much conditioner directly to the wig cap to prevent loosening knots. Let it
sit for 5-10 minutes.

Rinse thoroughly with cool water. This helps to seal the hair cuticles and enhance shine.
Drying:

Gently blot (do not rub or wring) excess water with a clean, soft towel.

Apply a lightweight leave-in conditioner or a heat protectant spray if you plan to heat
style.

Allow the wig to air dry completely on a wig stand, or use a blow-dryer on a low, cool
setting, directing airflow downwards.
Styling:

Always use a heat protectant spray before applying any heat tools (flat irons, curling
irons) to protect the hair fibers.

Keep heat settings on low to medium (around 250-300°F / 120-150°C) to prevent heat
damage.

Comb or brush gently with a wide-tooth comb or a paddle brush designed for wigs.

Curly Human Hair Wig Maintenance
Essence Glow curly human hair wigs require extra hydration and gentle care to maintain their beautiful curl pattern and prevent frizz.
Washing:

Detangle before washing with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers while the hair is dry.
This helps prevent matting when wet.

Wet the hair with lukewarm water, letting the water flow downwards.

Apply a generous amount of sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo, gently massaging in a
downward motion. Do not scrub or agitate.

Rinse thoroughly.

Apply a rich, hydrating conditioner or a deep conditioning treatment. Use your fingers to
gently work through any remaining tangles, starting from the ends and moving upwards.

Leave the conditioner on for at least 15-20 minutes, or longer for a deep treatment, to
allow for maximum moisture absorption.

Rinse with cool water, leaving a small amount of conditioner in for added moisture and
frizz control.
Drying:

Gently scrunch the curls upwards with a microfibre towel or a clean cotton t-shirt to
remove excess water. Do not rub vigorously.

Apply a curl-defining cream, mousse, or leave-in conditioner while the hair is still damp
to enhance and hold the curl pattern.

Allow the wig to air dry completely on a wig stand, or use a diffuser attachment on your
blow dryer on a low, cool setting.
Styling:

Avoid brushing curly wigs when dry, as this can cause frizz and disrupt the natural curl
pattern. Only detangle when wet with conditioner or when completely dry and using a
wide-tooth comb from ends up.

To refresh curls between washes, mist with a spray bottle containing water mixed with a
little leave-in conditioner. Gently scrunch and finger style.

Sleep with a satin bonnet or pillowcase to minimize frizz, tangling, and preserve the curl
definition.

Synthetic Blend Wig Maintenance
Essence Glow synthetic blend wigs offer remarkable durability and style retention but require specific care to maintain their appearance.
Washing:

Gently detangle the wig with a wide-tooth comb before washing, working from the ends
upwards.

Fill a basin with cool water and add a capful of wig shampoo (specifically designed for
synthetic wigs).

Submerge the wig into the water and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. Gently swish it around – do not rub, scrub, or twist the wig.

Rinse thoroughly under cool running water until all shampoo is removed.

Apply a wig conditioner (also formulated for synthetic wigs) and let it sit for a few
minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water.
Drying:

Gently blot excess water with a clean towel. Do not wring or squeeze the wig.

Place the wig on a folding wig stand or hang it to air dry completely at room temperature.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, or blow dryers (unless specified as heat-friendly).

Do not brush the wig until it is completely dry to avoid stretching or damaging the fibers.
Styling:

Crucial: use very low heat settings (under 250°F / 120°C) and always perform a patch
test on an inconspicuous area first.

If the wig is not heat-friendly, avoid all heat styling tools (flat irons, curling irons, blow
dryers).

Use a wide-tooth comb or a wig brush specifically designed for synthetic wigs. Regular
brushes can cause damage.
